Setting Up An Android Zebra Device to Scan Bar Codes

This guide provides step-by-step instructions for configuring the Datawedge when using a Zebra mobile device to scan barcodes with Roadnet mobile applications.

Note: If you intend to use this device to scan barcodes, you will need to set up the DataWedge.

• Step 1: On the mobile device, Open DataWedge.
• Step 2: Press Menu.
• Step 3: Select New Profile.
• Step 4: Enter Roadnet and press OK.
• Step 5: On the Roadnet profile screen, if it is not already enabled, place a check in the Profile enabled box.
• Step 6: Under the Applications Associated Apps section select com.roadnet.mobile.amx *
• Step 7: Under the Barcode Input section, place a check in the Enabled box.
• Step 8: Under the Keystroke Output section, if there is a check in the Enabled box, remove the check.
• Step 9: Under the Intent Output section, place a check in the Enabled box.
• Step 10: Under the Intent Output section, select Intent action and enter “com.roadnet.mobile.amx.ScanResult”.
• Step 11: Under the Intent Output section, select Intent delivery. Select Broadcast intent.
• Step 12: Under the IP Output section, if there is a check in the Enabled box, remove the check.

The scanner setup is complete.
