Using the Notifier Window

The Notifier window notifies you of new messages and alerts from Services Portal software. To use it, at least one user Alerts preference: "Receive in Notifier window," must be enabled. The Notifier window opens automatically in a small, new browser window each time you log in to the Services Portal.

These three icons appear in the Notifier window, where you can see the number of alerts or notifications. The color indicates the highest priority level of any item: High , Medium , Low . For example, means there are six unacknowledged alerts and at least one is high priority.

If you enable the associated preference listed below, the icon flashes in the window and you hear a tone when a new alert or notification arrives.

Note: Audible tones are not supported by the Google Chrome browser. If you want to hear audible tones, you must use Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox.

Icon Type of alert/ notification Flashes and plays a tone if this user alert and/or QTRACS preference is enabled:
Unacknowledged alerts Flashes/plays tone for each priority level (low, medium, high) that is enabled in Alert and Notification preferences
Return messages QTRACS preference: "Notify of return message from vehicle"
Undeliverable forward messages QTRACS preference: "Notify of undeliverable forward message" (you set the notification priority)

To view the corresponding list of unacknowledged alerts or filtered messages, click an icon. As you acknowledge alerts and messages or delete undeliverable forward messages, the number in the Notifier window reduces. If you acknowledge all items, the number disappears and the icon is dim.
