Active time (faults)
The amount of time that a fault is indicated as active on the vehicle. Note that some fault detection methods have no explicit way to detect that the fault is no longer present. These reset at extraction; therefore, active time must be used carefully based on the mode of fault detection.
Actual Idle Fuel
Fuel wasted in intertrip idle or short idle, based on the amount of idle time and the average fuel consumed per hour at idle.
Actual Overrev Fuel
Fuel wasted due to overrev time, excluding overrev that is also overspeed time, based on the average incremental fuel consumption per hour of overrev and the amount of shift overrev time.
Actual Spdng Fuel
Fuel wasted due to overspeed time and excessive overspeed time, based on estimates of the average miles (or kilometers) per hour and time over the overspeed threshold, and the specified difference in fuel economy for each mile (or kilometer) per hour over the threshold.
Auto Extract
Determines whether each record was generated as a result of an automatic extract or not. (0=manually extracted, 1=auto extracted, blank=unknown)
Auto Fault Check
Indicates whether the record was reviewed by overchecking:
  • Not reviewed—overcheck was not done
  • Confirmed Good—overcheck done and no faults
  • Confirmed Bad—overcheck resulted in faults
  • N/A—record includes multiple drivers or vehicles, or you are looking at summarized record
  • Disabled—overchecking is not enabled
Authorized assets
The vehicles and/or drivers you are authorized to view based on global group membership and whether or not your user role is enabled to see data for all assets.
Average speed
The average rate of travel while driving. Derived by: DISTANCE / DRIVING TIME
Bad Ignition Enable
Generates a fault if the ignition is off and RPM is greater than zero.
Bad Speed Enable
Generates a fault if the drive time is greater than two hours at zero speed and RPM greater than 1300.
Begin Date/Time
The first date and time that an account is active (collecting data) after an extract/reset. The driver account that is active when a reset occurs resumes data collection immediately after reset, with a new begin date and time equal to the date and time of the reset. The begin date and time for any other account is set when it becomes active due to log on or log off.
Begin Trip Thresh
The distance traveled before the mobile unit records the beginning of a trip segment. This value is specified in tenths of a mile/kilometer. A typical value is 7/10 of a mile.
Coast(ing) Out of Gear Time
Time spent above the overspeed threshold, but below 1000 RPM.
Coast(ing) Out of Gear Pct (percent)
Percentage of time above the overspeed threshold, but below 1000 RPM. Derived by: COASTING OUT OF GEAR TIME/ MOVING TIME
Cooldown violation count
A count of the number of times that the driver stops the vehicle when it is hot and shuts off the engine before allowing the minimum cool down time.
Cooldown violation rate (percentage)

Data extraction
The process that transfers performance monitoring data from the mobile unit to the Performance Monitoring database. Extractions are performed in messages, and usually occur because of an extract request. Certain exception conditions can also cause a mobile unit to perform an extraction automatically.

Diesel Gallon Equivalents (DGE)
Performance extracts and fault extracts indicate fuel type allowing for fuel consumption from Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles to be represented in diesel gallon equivalents (DGEs). This allows customers to compare Performance Monitoring data from CNG vehicles.
Distance in unidentified driver account
Number of miles or kilometers a vehicle must exceed with no driver logged in before a performance record is included on the report.
DnHil (Downhill) Coast
Time above the overspeed threshold but below 1000 RPM.
Driving Mileage
Estimate of the amount of fuel used while driving, excluding intertrip idle fuel. Also excludes PTO fuel if PTO is active. Derived by: DISTANCE / FUEL-INTERTRIP IDLE FUEL-PTO. This field does not display if JBus functionality is disabled on the Configuration Values page.
Driving MPG (L/100K)
An estimate of the amount of fuel used while driving, excluding intertrip idle fuel. Also excludes PTO fuel if PTO is active. Derived by: DISTANCE / FUEL - INTERTRIP IDLE FUEL - PTO
Driving percentage
The percentage of engine time that the vehicle is operating on the road. Derived by: DRIVING TIME / ENGINE TIME

End Date/Time
The last date/time that an account is active (collecting data) before an extraction. The driver account that is active when an extraction occurs has an end date/time equal to the date/time of the extraction. The end date/time for any other account is the last time it is active before an extraction, based on log in and log out.
End Trip Thresh
The amount of continuous idling time required for the mobile unit to assume that a trip segment has completed. Turning the ignition off before the End of Trip Threshold expires also ends the trip segment. A typical value is 5 to 10 minutes. Set the value higher than the maximum cool down time.
Eng. Fuel
Amount of fuel used by the engine. Fuel data is obtained (if available) from a vehicle data link connected to an electronically controlled engine. Its accuracy is based on the engine capabilities.
Engine hrs in unidentified driver account
Number of hours of engine time a vehicle must exceed with no driver logged in before a performance record is included on the report.
Engine Time
Time that the engine is running (ignition on and speed or RPM greater than zero).
Equivalent PM distance
The equivalent preventive maintenance distance, derived by the following: DISTANCE + (FLEET AVERAGE MILEAGE X IDLE FUEL RATE) X (ENGINE TIME - MOVING TIME)
Excess OvrSpd (Overspeed) (min)
Minimum number of excess overspeed minutes to include records on the report. Only records with excessive overspeed time greater than this value are included. For example, if you type 2, overspeed times of less than 2 minutes are not included in the report.
Excess Speed Percent
Amount, in percent, that the driver exceeded the excess speed threshold. Set the percentage to 0 for a good starting point.
Excess Speed Thresh
The time that the vehicle’s speed is over this value is captured as excessive overspeed. A typical value is 65 MPH. The value must be greater than the over speed threshold.
Excess Speed Time
Amount of time the driver exceeded the excess speed threshold. Set the time to 2 minutes for a good starting point.
Excessive overspeed count
The number of times that the vehicle exceeds the excessive overspeed threshold for a full minute or more.
Excessive overspeed full count
The number of times that the vehicle exceeds the excessive overspeed threshold.
Excessive overspeed max(imum)
The duration of the longest excessive overspeed event.
Excessive overspeed percentage
Derived by: EXCESSIVE OVERSPEED TIME / MOVING TIME
Excessive overspeed time
Time above a customer-specified excessive overspeed threshold, typically set greater than the overspeed threshold.
Extended Idle PCT (percentage)
Percentage of idle time that was extended idle. Derived by: EXTENDED IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME
Extended Idle Threshold
The amount of time specified before intertrip idle is considered extended idle, usually due to sleeper berth time. If intertrip idle ends before this threshold is reached, the event is considered a short idle event as well as an intertrip idle event. Extended idle events are calculated by subtracting short idle from intertrip idle. This way, sleep time can be separated from other intertrip idle time. A typical value is 90 minutes.
Extended Idle Time
Intertrip Idle time for events that are from extended operation such as sleeper berth. Derived by: INTERTRIP IDLE - SHORT IDLE
Extraction cycle
The 24-hour period that starts when the scheduled extraction request is sent. Automatically-generated reports process at the end of the cycle, it is recommended that you verify that extraction requests succeeded before the cycle ends.
Extraction date/time
The date and time that an account extraction occurred. For a driver account, multiple log on/off events can occur between the begin date/time and end date/time. These interim events are not recorded; they simply suspend or resume data collection in the driver account.

Fault State Change Count
Counts the number of times the fault status changed between active and inactive.
Fleet average mileage
Defines a baseline for calculating changes in fuel caused by driver behavior. Any vehicle-specific differences in this number have only a small effect when calculating wasted fuel. The ranges vary depending on the fuel and distance metrics you’ve selected.
Fuel
The amount of fuel used by the engine. Fuel data is obtained (if available) from a vehicle data link connected to an electronically controlled engine. Its accuracy is based on the engine capabilities. Fuel can be measured in gallons, liters, or imperial gallons.
Fuel Consumed
Amount of fuel used by the engine, obtained (if available) from a vehicle data link. Its accuracy is based on the engine capabilities.
Fuel Cost
Fuel saved or wasted by the driver based on the standards for idling, speeding, and overreving. A positive fuel cost indicates wasted fuel, and a negative fuel cost indicates saved fuel.
Fuel Mileage
Distance traveled (miles, kilometers, or 100KM), divided by the fuel consumed (gallons, imperial gallons, or liters). This field does not display if JBus functionality is disabled on the Configuration Values page.
Fuel mileage improved per MPH/KPH Slowed
Value applied to the average difference in speed for time above the overspeed threshold, versus the defined overspeed threshold.

Idle fuel (estimation on Fuel Efficiency Report)
An estimate of the fuel wasted in intertrip idle or short idle as specified, based on the amount of idle time and the average fuel consumed per hour at idle.
Idle fuel consumption (unit/hr)
Defines the average rate of fuel consumption when idling. The ranges vary depending on the fuel metric you’ve selected.
Idle fuel rate
The average rate of fuel consumption when idling. Derived by: IDLE FUEL - PTO FUEL / IDLE TIME - PTO TIME
Idle Fuel / Spdng fuel / Overrev Fuel
Amount of fuel used while idling, overspeeding, and overreving, for a driver conforming to the standard.
Idle Fuel Used
The amount of fuel used while the engine is running but speed is zero.
Idle percentage
Derived by: IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME
Idle Standard (%) / OverSpeed Standard (%) / OverRev Standard (%)
Values used to calculate how much wasted fuel is allowed based on the expected behavior of an average driver. Drivers with performance better than the standard have a negative cost. Typical values: Idle standard—5% Overspeed standard—3.0% Overrev standard—4.0%
Idle time
Time that the engine is running but the vehicle speed is zero. Derived by: ENGINE TIME - MOVING TIME
Ignition violation count
The count of ignition violations. An ignition violation is counted when a driver changes ignition state three times within a specified period; for example, 5 minutes. After a first violation is counted, additional violations are counted for every two changes in state within each specified period until a full time period passes without any more violations.
Ignition violation rate (percentage)
Derived by: IGNITION VIOLATION COUNT / TRIP SEGMENT COUNT X 100
Ignition Violation Time
Turning the ignition on and off three times within the specified time causes an ignition violation. After the first violation, the time is reset, and turning the ignition on or off two more times within the specified time causes additional violations. A typical value is 5 minutes.
Insignificant Crediting
Determines whether insignificant crediting is enabled. Set this field to Y if you have an administrative (trash can) account to receive insignificant records. If you use a valid driver ID, the driver’s data could be polluted with insignificant records.
InterTrip Extnd Idle
Percentage of intertrip idle time for events that are from extended operation such as sleeper berth. Derived by: INTERTRIP IDLE - SHORT IDLE / ENGINE TIME
Intertrip idle fuel
An estimate of the amount of fuel consumed during intertrip idle time, based on fuel consumption rate at idle and the amount of intertrip idle time. Derived by: IDLE FUEL RATE X INTERTRIP IDLE TIME
Intertrip Idle %
The percentage of time since the last extract that the engine idles other than for allowed warmup, cool down, or short stops in traffic. Derived by: INTERTRIP IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME
Intertrip Idle Time
Time that the engine is idling other than for allowable warmups, cool downs, or short stops due to traffic conditions. Approximately equal to engine time minus driving time. The validity of this data is dependent on reasonable set up of system parameters. Also excludes idling for any PTO operation if PTO is activated.
InterTrip Short Idle
Percentage of intertrip idle time for events that are not from extended operation, such as sleeper berth idling, but are of medium duration, such as a lunch break. These events are longer than allowable warm ups and cool downs, but shorter than a specified extended idle threshold. The extended idle threshold should be a typical minimum time expected for true sleeper berth events, for example, 90 minutes. Derived by: SHORT IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME
Intrtrp Idle
Intertrip idle time for events that are NOT from extended operation such as sleeper berth idling, but instead are of medium duration such as a lunch break. Intertrip Idle is approximately equal to ENGINE TIME minus DRIVING TIME. These events are longer than allowable warmups and cool downs, but shorter than a specified extended idle threshold. The extended idle threshold should be a typical minimum time expected for true sleeper berth events, e.g., 90 minutes.
IntTrp Idle %
Percentage of time that the engine is idling other than for allowable warmups, cool downs, or short stops due to traffic conditions. Approximately equal to engine time minus driving time. The validity of this data is dependent on reasonable set up of system parameters. Also excludes idling for any PTO operation if PTO is activated. Derived by: INTERTRIP IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME

JBus Engine Time
Generates a fault if the engine time is greater than 12 minutes but the mobile unit is off.
JBus indicates true PTO
Specifies whether the PTO signal from the JBus data link is used to determine PTO status.
JBus LTD Mismatch
Generates a fault if a mismatch is detected between life-to-date and stored mobile unit values.
JBus RPM
Generates a fault if the engine speed diagnostic code has been transmitted (PID 194 and PID 190).
JBus Select
Identifies whether the mobile unit reads data from the vehicle’s JBus data link. All 1994 and newer engines should have this connection and should not be connected to the speed sensor.
JBus Speed
Generates a fault if the road speed diagnostic code has been transmitted (PID 194 and PID 190).
JBus Used
Determines whether or not the mobile unit is enabled for JBus use. (0=no, 1=yes).
Life-to-date (LTD) details
The metrics for engine/moving time, distances, and fuel used in different states that are accumulated by the mobile unit since Performance Monitoring was activated. Initial values are manually entered when activated.
LTD Eqv. PM Dist
Equivalent distance the vehicle has traveled if idle time is included in the calculation. Derived by: DISTANCE + (FLEET AVERAGE MILEAGE X IDLE FUEL RATE) X (ENGINE TIME - MOVING TIME)
Max Short Stops
Percentage of idle time due to short stops during a driving segment, such as in traffic. Derived by: DRIVING TIME - MOVING TIME / ENGINE TIME 
Maximum Cool Down
The maximum number of minutes that a vehicle should idle before the ignition is turned off. Intertrip idle starts to accumulate if maximum cool down time is exceeded. A typical value is 5 minutes. This also determines the short stops interval. Set the value higher than the minimum cool down time.
Maximum Warmup
The maximum number of minutes that a vehicle should idle after the ignition is turned on before the vehicle begins moving. If the vehicle doesn’t move after the maximum warmup time, intertrip idle time starts accumulating. A typical value is 5 minutes. Set the value higher than the minimum warmup.
Mobile Auto Extract
Sets an internal timer in the mobile units. If the extract request does not reach a mobile unit, the mobile unit automatically sends an extract. Set the MCT Auto Extract longer than the Host Extract Cycle, so that Performance Monitoring controls the extract cycle for most circumstances. The typical value is Host Extract Cycle + 1.
Mobile Display Disable
Prevents the driver from seeing optional installation or troubleshooting pages on the mobile unit, typically not checked.
Mobile Driver Beep Enable / Period
Allows the mobile to notify the driver with an audible beep that no driver is logged in. If enabled, sets the length of time before reminding the driver to log on or off after the ignition is on/off. The typical values are disabled and 0.
Min WarmUp/ClDown
Percentage of idle time spent specifically to warm up or cool down the vehicle, separate from all other idling activity. Derived by: DEDICATED WARMUP OR COOLDOWN TIME / ENGINE TIME
Minimum Cool Down time
The minimum number of minutes that a hot vehicle should idle before the ignition is turned off. A cooldown violation is recorded if the engine is turned off before this time period expires. A typical value is 3 minutes.
Minimum disconnect time (main power fault)
The greater of the mobile unit’s measurement of minimum power disconnection time, or the change in the electronic engine’s “engine time” since last power down. The mobile unit measures minimum power disconnection time by comparing the time at power up with the time at last power down, minus wake up interval. This logic is suspended after the mobile unit exceeds its maximum power up time.
Minimum Warmup time
The minimum number of minutes that a vehicle should idle after the ignition is initially turned on before the vehicle begins moving. If a vehicle moves before the minimum warmup time, a warmup violation occurs. A typical value is 3 minutes.
Moving Mileage
Vehicle’s distance per gallon, imperial gallon, or liter, excluding fuel used while idling.

The mileage and fuel used, excluding fuel used while idling. 
Moving MPG (KPG, KPL, MPIG, L/100KM)
The miles or kilometers per gallon of the vehicle excluding all idle fuel Derived by: DISTANCE / FUEL - IDLE FUEL
Moving Time
The amount of time that the engine is running and vehicle speed is greater than zero.
MPG (KPG, KPL, MPIG, L/100KM)
Distance (miles) per fuel measure (U.S. gallon), based on your distance (miles or kilometers) and volume (gallon, liter, or imperial gallon) preferences.

Network operations center (NOC)
This center manages the message traffic between your dispatch computer and your vehicles.
No Power Enable
Generates a fault if the power, when detected as off, is greater than the wakeup time.
Omission flags
Determines which records' data is to be included or omitted in calculations. There are ten flags that indicate whether the data is valid for one category of calculations. Values: 0=valid data for that category of calculations, 1-99=invalid data: ONE or MORE of the conditions are true. This identifies that this record's data shouldn't be used when calculating fuel efficiency.
Operating idle percentage
Derived by: OPERATING IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME
Operating idle time
Idle time for warm ups, cool downs, or short stops during a driving segment (e.g., due to traffic). Derived by: TOTAL IDLE TIME - INTERTRIP IDLE TIME - PTO TIME
Over Auto Extract
Determines whether the record was generated as a result of an automatic overrange extract or not. (0=no, 1=yes)
Over RPM Count
The number of times (in separate events) that the driver exceeded the defined RPM threshold.
Over RPM Max
The number of minutes the longest Over RPM event lasted.
Over RPM Percent
Percentage of time the RPM exceeded the maximum threshold within the specified dates.
Over RPM Thresh
The time that the vehicle’s RPM is above this value is collected as overrev data. Set the threshold slightly higher than the expected RPM of the vehicle when it is in high gear and at the selected over speed threshold to make sure the overrev data is valid and not tainted by regular operation near the over speed threshold. A typical value is 1700.
Over RPM Time
Amount of time exceeding the maximum RPM threshold when the throttle position is either unavailable (JBus) or is greater than 5%. You can change this threshold during an extraction cycle.
Over Speed Percent
Percentage of time the speed exceeded the maximum threshold within the specified dates.
Over Speed Thresh
The speed in MPH (or KPH) that, when exceeded, causes the mobile unit to accumulate over speed time. A typical value is 60 MPH. NOTE: Over speed time may not accumulate when the cruise control is engaged if the over speed threshold is less than the engine's maximum cruise speed setting.
Over Speed Time
Amount of time the vehicle’s speed exceeded the maximum speed threshold when the throttle position was either unavailable (JBus) or read more than 5%. You can change this threshold during an extraction cycle. Over speed time accumulates regardless of the throttle position if the over speed and excessive speed thresholds are both exceeded.
Overrev count
The number of times that the vehicle exceeds the over-RPM threshold for a full minute or more.
Overrev fuel
An estimate of the fuel wasted due to overrev time (excluding overrev that is also overspeed time), based on the average incremental fuel consumption per hour of overrev and the amount of shift overrev time (on Fuel Efficiency report).
OverRev Fuel Consumption (fuel gallons/hr)
Value applied to shift overrev time (overrev . overspeed) to prevent double-counting fuel savings when the driver is both overspeeding and overreving.
Overrev max(imum) Overrev percentage
The duration of the longest overrev event. Derived by: OVERREV TIME / ENGINE TIME
Overrev time
Time accumulated when the vehicle’s RPM is equal to or greater than the specified overRPM threshold, and the throttle position is unavailable (JBus) or is greater than 5%.
Overspeed Count (> 1 min)
The number of times that the vehicle exceeds the overspeed threshold for a full minute or more.
Overspeed Max
The duration of the longest overspeed event.
OverSpeed Pcnt
The percentage of time since the last extract spent driving above the specified threshold, and the throttle position is unavailable (JBus) or is greater than 5%. Derived by: OVERSPEED TIME / MOVING TIME
Overspeed Time
Time accumulated when the vehicle’s speed is equal to or greater than the specified overspeed threshold, and the throttle position is unavailable (JBus) or is greater than 5%. Overspeed time accumulates regardless of the throttle position if the overspeed and excessive speed thresholds are both exceeded.
Ovrrnge Reset Req
Date and time of the overrange reset request.
OvSpd %
Percentage of time that the vehicle exceeds the defined overspeed threshold. Derived by: OVERSPEED TIME / MOVING TIME

Parked Fuel Used
Amount of fuel consumed while the engine is idling and the parking brake is on
Parked Idle Fuel
The amount of fuel used while idling and while the data link shows the parking brake on. After a regular or auto-extraction is performed, the mobile unit resets its parked idle fuel to 0. Note: Consult with your customer service representative (CSR) to set this value based on your company’s idling profile. If you use integration to extract data by trip, set this parameter to 000 to disable it.
Possible (engine) time
An estimate of any engine time during a driver’s date range that is not accounted for by the amount of engine time in the data for that driver ID. The estimate is based on accumulated ignition-on status time from vehicle position records during the date range of the driver’s record. If a driver logs off when idling the vehicle, possible engine time may account for at least a portion of intertrip idle time in the unidentified driver account.
Possible Faults
Number of possible sensor faults detected within the specified dates. If the count indicates any faults, you should review and confirm that they are based on reliable data.
PTO % (percentage)
Percentage of idle time that PTO (power take off) status is indicated. Normally PTO status means that the engine is being used to power an accessory. PTO status is sensed with a switch connected to a PTO input to the mobile unit. A PTO status can also be obtained from the data link, if available. The status must be indicated for a specified period of time before PTO operation is assumed. Derived by: PTO TIME / ENGINE TIME 
PTOE
PTO collected from the vehicle ECM. PTOE data is unreliable, so it is not supported in Performance Monitoring and does not appear on any screens or reports.
PTO Fuel
The amount of fuel consumed while idling in PTO mode.
PTO Time
The amount of idle time wasted while PTO status is indicated. Normally PTO status means that the engine is being used to power an accessory. PTO status is sensed with a switch connected to a PTO input to the mobile unit. A PTO status can also be obtained from the data link, if available. The status must be indicated for a specified period of time before PTO operation is assumed.
PTOC revs
The number of engine revolutions while in PTOC (compressor) mode. A compressor is a common power take off accessory.
PTOP revs
The number of engine revolutions while in PTOP (pump) mode. A pump is a common power take off accessory.
PTOR revs
The number of engine revolutions while the engine is indicating PTO status is “on” via the data link.

Rate of Violation Cooldn

Rate of Violation Ignition
Percentage of times the driver turns the ignition on or off during a defined period; for example, 5 minutes. Derived by: IGNITION VIOLATION COUNT / TRIP SEGMENT COUNT X 100
Rate of Violation Warmup
Derived by: WARM UP VIOLATION COUNT / TRIP SEGMENT COUNT X 100
Restricted user
A user whose role is not enabled to see data for all assets in the applications that recognize global groups. Specifically, the MISC permission "Can see data for all assets" is not checked.
RPM Calibration
Set to the number of pulses per engine revolution that the mobile unit receives from its RPM signal source. If the JBus data link is being used (JBus Select = Y), this calibration value is not used. If the mobile unit receives its pulses directly from a sensor in the flywheel, the number of pulses per revolution is equal to the number of teeth on the flywheel. Typical values are 103 or 118. If the mobile unit receives its RPM pulses from the engine control unit accessory output instead of directly from a flywheel sensor, the engine’s output is usually standardized to 12 pulses on US-made vehicles, regardless of the number of teeth on the flywheel. A sensor calibration value would have been entered into the engine control unit already.
RPM Zero Enable
Generates a fault if RPM is zero and speed is not zero.
Shift OverRev % (percentage)
Percentage of time that a driver overrevs, while upshifting or downshifting. This data is valid if the over-RPM threshold is set so that it corresponds to the overspeed threshold when the vehicle is in high gear. Derived by: SHIFT OVERREV TIME / ENGINE TIME
Shift overrev time
The time that a driver overrevs, while upshifting or downshifting. This data is valid if the over-RPM threshold is set so that it corresponds to the overspeed threshold when the vehicle is in high gear. Derived by: OVERREV TIME - OVERSPEED TIME
Shift OvRev
Time that a driver is overreving while upshifting or downshifting. This data is valid if the over-RPM threshold is set so that it corresponds to the overspeed threshold when the vehicle is in high gear. Derived by: OVER RPM TIME - OVERSPEED TIME / 60
Short Cool Count
A count of violations as a result of the number of times the driver turned the vehicle ignition off before the cool-down time has elapsed.
Short Idle %
Percentage of intertrip idle time for events that are not from extended operation such as sleeper berth idling, but instead are of medium duration such as a lunch break. These events are longer than allowable warmups and cool downs, but shorter than a specified extended idle threshold. The extended idle threshold should be a typical minimum time expected for true sleeper berth events, e.g., 90 minutes. Values for this field do not display for vehicles with OmniTRACS firmware prior to version 14.6.

Percentage of idle time that was short idle.

Short Warm Count
A count of violations as a result of the number of times the driver moved the vehicle before the warm-up time had elapsed.
Speed Calibration
The number of pulses per mile or kilometer that the mobile unit receives from its signal source. If the JBus data link is being used for all sensor data, this calibration is not used. If the mobile unit receives pulses directly from a speed sensor at the output shaft of the transmission, the number of pulses per mile is calculated based on SC = ST x R x T:
  • SC is the speed calibration.
  • ST is the number of transmission output shaft exciter ring teeth (typically 16).
  • R is the rear end ratio (example: 3.7).
  • T is the tire revolutions per mile/kilometer.
If the mobile unit receives speed pulses from the engine control unit accessory output instead of directly from the axle sensor, the engine’s output is usually standardized to 30,000 pulses on U.S. made vehicles, regardless of the formula above. A sensor calibration value would already have been entered into the engine control unit.
Speeding fuel
An estimate of the fuel wasted due to overspeed time and excessive overspeed time, based on estimates of the average miles (kilometers) per hour and time over the overspeed threshold, and the specified difference in fuel economy for each mile (kilomter) per hour over the threshold (on Fuel Efficiency report).
Steady Speed Enable
Generates a fault if the traditional speed sensor is constant for more than five minutes.
Summary extract
A performance record that does not include speed/rpm matrix data. A summary is generally a manual extract performed during a cycle that does not reset the counter or start a new extract period. The summary extract is overwritten when the next full extract is received.

Time in Cruise Control
Percentage of total moving time during which the vehicle is in cruise control.
Time in Top Gear
Percentage of total moving time during which the vehicle is in top gear.
Total Active Time
The total amount of time, with or without ignition on, that the account was the active account. The total active time for all driver accounts from each vehicle equal total calendar time.
Total Distance
Distance driven in miles or kilometers.
Total Fuel Used
The amount of fuel used by the engine.
Total Idle
Percentage of total time that the engine was running but the vehicle speed was zero. Derived by: ENGINE TIME - MOVING TIME / ENGINE TIME
Total Intertrp Idle
Percentage of time that the engine idled other than for warmup, cool down, or short stops. Approximately equal to engine time minus driving time. The validity of this data is dependent on reasonable set up of system parameters. Also excludes idling for any PTO operation if PTO is enabled. Derived by: INTERTRIP IDLE TIME / ENGINE TIME 
Total Mileage and Fuel
The mileage and fuel used including what is used during idle time.
Total Operating Idle
Percentage of idle time for warmups, cool downs, or short stops during a driving segment (e.g., due to traffic). Derived by: TOTAL IDLE TIME - INTERTRIP IDLE TIME - PTO TIME / ENGINE TIME
Total OvRng % (overrange percentage)
Derived by: OVERSPEED TIME + INTERTRIP IDLE TIME + OVERREV TIME / ENGINE TIME X 100
Total Time
Total amount of time, with or without ignition on, that the account was the active account. The total active time for all driver accounts from each vehicle equal total calendar time.
Trip segment count
The number of times that an end of trip segment is determined. This counter is dependent on a specified distance threshold defining the beginning of the trip segment and a specified time threshold defining the end of a trip segment. Turning the ignition off also ends a trip segment.
Unidentified driver account
A reserved account with driver password = zero. The unidentified driver account is the default account, and is used whenever there is no logged in driver.
Unregistered driver
A driver password received in a data set that does not exist in the driver database. When an unregistered password is received, it either means that a valid driver has not been entered into the driver database, or that a driver used an incorrect or nonexistent password.
Unrestricted user
A user whose role is enabled to see data for all assets in the applications that recognize global groups. Specifically, the MISC permission "Can see data for all assets" is checked.
Vehicle Type
Vehicle type that associates a vehicle with a defined set of parameters. Type Rsv is reserved for system use and is the default that is assigned to new vehicles when you first begin using Performance Monitoring. Create a new vehicle type with your most common parameters and make it the new default type.
Warmup violation count
A count of the number of times that the driver starts the vehicle when it is “cool” and begins moving before allowing the minimum warm up time.
Warmup Violation Rate (Percentage)
Derived by: WARM UP VIOLATION COUNT / TRIP SEGMENT COUNT X 100
Zero Speed /RPM Enable
Generates a fault if the ignition is on for more than two hours at zero speed and zero RPM.
