Trailer Settings: Geofence
Geofence tells you the trailer's most recent position, whether it's inside the geofence, and the geofence definition. Click activate to set up a new geofence or edit to change it. The fields include:
- Description
- A brief description of the geofence type or location.
- Starting (date/time)- Ending (date/time)
- The date the geofence became active and, if an end date is specified, the date and time the geofence goes inactive. If the geofence has no end date specified, "Ongoing" displays. Other states include:

- This trailer does not have an active geofence—the geofence is deactivated or expired
- Foreign trailer geofences cannot be modified—the trailer is foreign and cannot be modified. If it is active, you can see the details.
- A First Movement temporary notification is in effect—a first movement temporary notification is enabled. The geofence cannot be edited, but you can see the details except for the notification information.
- Center
- The center point of the geofence.
- Dimensions
- The geofence's north/south and east/west dimensions.
Note: Selecting a landmark center point does not set the geofence boundary to the landmark shape and size. It uses the landmark's center point with the dimensions you specify to define the geofence area.
- Unpowered Checking
- How often a battery-powered terminal checks its geofence position status.
- Geofence On Entry / Exit Actions
- The action taken when a trailer enters or exits a geofence. Options
are:
- Ignore completely—take no action when the trailer enters or exits a geofence.
- Send event with next scheduled message—send the message the next time the terminal sends a scheduled message, such as a status report.
- Send event immediately —send the event as soon as it is detected.
- Send event immediately and stay awake—send the event as soon as it is detected and stay powered up (awake) until the stay awake interval is reached.
- Geofence Entry/Exit Alerts
- Set the alert priority for each group or individual.
